Your Teen Will Learn:
1. Innovative and safe turning methods making turning from stopped and moving positions easier
2. Minimum 3-5 second following rule that gives driver reaction time and stopping distance
3. U-turn practice that will improve their steering skills and confidence
4. Forward and reverse 2 & 3 point turns
5. Pre-planned lane changes using safe strategies that give driver an advantage
6. Quick stops required on DPS road test and on the roads at times
7. Reversing in a straight line looking over shoulder (required on DPS Road Test)
8. Parallel, perpendicular and angle parking techniques that are smart and easy
9. DPS Road Test routes and what to expect from examiners
Student will receive a DE-964 certificate of completion of the 14 hours of in-car training required to qualify for the DPS road test.
**Parents, there is the new Texas law that now requires 20 additional hours of behind-the-wheel driving, of which 10 must be at night. Hours are to be logged on the TEA 20 hour log form and presented at the DPS when before taking road test.
